This Cookie Notice explains how Date Iran uses cookies and similar technologies on dateiran.com. It supplements our Privacy Policy.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser when you visit a website. They’re widely used to make sites work, to make them work more efficiently, and to provide reporting and security information. We also use a few similar technologies (local storage, pixel beacons) which we’ll refer to collectively as “cookies” here.
2. Categories of cookies we use
2.1 Strictly necessary
These are required for the site to function. They cannot be switched off without breaking the site.
- Cloudflare security cookies — set by Cloudflare to protect the site from abuse and to deliver content reliably. Examples:
- __cf_bm — bot-management cookie that distinguishes humans from bots. Session-length, usually under 30 minutes.
- cf_clearance — set after a successful security challenge so you don’t have to solve it again. Up to 1 year.
- __cflb — load-balancing cookie that pins a session to a Cloudflare edge node.
- Session cookies — used to keep your contact-form submissions intact and prevent CSRF on the form endpoint.
2.2 Functional
Used to remember preferences (e.g. closing this banner). Stored in local storage and cleared when you clear browsing data.
2.3 Analytics (only if enabled)
If we enable analytics in the future (e.g. Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no client-side cookies), we will update this page and ask for your consent where required. We do not currently set marketing cookies.
3. Cloudflare & your IP address
Because the site is served through Cloudflare’s network, Cloudflare processes your IP address and limited request metadata to deliver the page and to protect the site from attacks. This is independent of whether cookies are stored on your device — it’s how the network routing works. See our Privacy Policy for the full description.
4. Managing cookies
You can manage or delete cookies at any time:
- Use your browser settings to block or delete cookies (see aboutcookies.org for step-by-step instructions for each browser).
- Note that disabling strictly necessary cookies (especially Cloudflare’s) may break the site or repeatedly require you to solve security challenges.
- Use private / incognito mode to limit cookie persistence to the current session.
5. Do Not Track
We respect the “Do Not Track” signal where it’s meaningful: we do not enable any third-party tracking or advertising cookies. Strictly necessary cookies and Cloudflare security cookies will still be set, as they are required to deliver the site.
6. Changes
We may update this notice. The current version is always available at /cookies; the “Last updated” date reflects the most recent change.
